Hy-Vee Partners with the Downtown Farmers' Market to Host a Second Pop-Up COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Des Moines on Saturday, May 15

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (May 12, 2021) — Hy-Vee, Inc. announces today that in partnership with the Downtown Farmers’ Market – presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, it will host another pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic at The Market on Saturday, May 15, in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.
The clinic will take place from 7 a.m. to noon on Court Avenue near Fifth Street at the Hy-Vee Healthy You Mobile, across from the Fourth + Court Hy-Vee. No appointment will be required. Individuals will be able to choose between the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine or Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. Pfizer-BioNTech is available for individuals 12 years of age and older and requires two doses, and the Janssen vaccine is available for individuals 18 years of age and older and requires only one dose. Minors receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Recipients of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine can receive their second dose of the vaccine at their local Hy-Vee Pharmacy 21 days after their first dose.
It is recommended (but not required) that vaccine recipients bring the following to their vaccination: insurance card (if they have insurance) and Medicare Part B red, white and blue card (if Medicare recipient); and photo ID. Masks are required. If individuals do not have insurance, they can still be vaccinated.
This will be the second pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic that Hy-Vee has hosted at the Downtown Farmers’ Market. At the first clinic, held May 8, nearly 70 COVID-19 vaccines were administered.
