Hy-Vee is proud to announce it has earned three national honors recognizing its commitment to a strong workplace culture and support for veterans and working families. The grocery retailer recently earned the Great Place To Work Certification™, the 2025 Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Patriot Employer Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Community Support and has been named a Best Place for Working Parents.

The Great Place To Work Certification™ is given to organizations with exceptional workplace culture. Selection is based on anonymous feedback independently collected from employees by Great Place To Work® and the survey results showed that Hy-Vee employees view the company as a trustworthy, people-first workplace where they feel valued, supported and empowered to grow their careers.

The 2025 DAV Patriot Employer Special Recognition award for Excellence in Community Support highlights Hy-Vee’s dedication to hiring veterans and its ongoing veteran support through initiatives like the annual Veterans Day Breakfasts and the Hy-Vee Homefront program. Hy-Vee is proud to employ more than 1,500 veterans and, of the 35 companies that received the DAV Patriot Employer Award, Hy-Vee is only one of eight to receive the additional Special Recognition designation.

For the fourth consecutive year, Hy-Vee has also been named a Best Place for Working Parents, recognizing the company’s family-friendly benefits designed to help employees with work-life balance including childcare discounts, tuition assistance, weekly grocery discounts and more.

“Our people are our greatest strength,” said Jeremy Gosch, Chairman and CEO of Hy-Vee. “For 95 years, Hy-Vee’s legacy has been defined by our dedication to our core values and a culture where employees feel empowered and connected to our mission. Every day, they help make lives easier, healthier and happier for our customers and communities, and these awards demonstrate that commitment."

Hy-Vee offers a comprehensive suite of benefits to its employees including competitive pay, career development opportunities, a 401(k) plan with a matching contribution, free meals for retail employees who work weekends and comprehensive health coverage.
