WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (April 25, 2019) - Kenneth George of Cherokee was one of four drivers inducted into the National Private Truck Council’s (NPTC) Driver Hall of Fame on April 15 during the organization’s 2019 Annual Education Management Conference and Exhibition at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Driver Hall of Fame and the event is designed to recognize top drivers for career safety performance.

George has been a driver for 42 years, racking up 3.5 million miles without an accident or moving violation. George is currently a driver for Hy-Vee’s Cherokee Distribution Center, which delivers perishable and non-perishable goods to more than 245 stores across Hy-Vee’s eight-state region.

“Kenny exemplifies the Hy-Vee fundamentals every day in the way he takes care of our customers, both while delivering to our stores as well as when driving safely on the roadways,” said Jody Sandy, Hy-Vee’s vice president of supply chain, Lomar, which is the company’s specialty foods distribution center. “His positive attitude and genuine, humble demeanor are examples we can all aspire to learn from. We are so proud to have Kenny represent Hy-Vee by being the first Hy-Vee driver inducted into the National Private Truck Council’s Driver Hall of Fame.”
